Baakari Wilder is internationally known for starring in the Broadway Musical "Bring in Da Noise Bring in DA Funk". During the course of the show he received the Bessie Award for his role as "Uncle Huck a Buck" and was also recognized by NewsWeek as Broadway's "Rookie of the Year". Baakari is a native Washingtonian who at the age of twelve opened the show at the Kennedy Center for legendary tappers Harold Nicholas, Sandman Simms, Brenda Buffalino, and Savion Glover. His dancing has delighted audiences around the world in places such as the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, Carnegie Hall,Lincoln Center, Germany,Africa, and Japan. Baakari has a list of television appearance which include: Jazz Central on BET, CBS's "Secret Talents of the Stars", and an episode of the Discovery Channel's "Time Warp". He also appeared in Spike Lee's "Bamboozled". Baakari is currently teaching and choreographing in Maryland,Virginia, and Washington D.C.
